REVIEW:
I tested the Combat Centenarian Senior Bat with two of the top Senior Softball players in the country, Steve Imlay and Joe Rinaldi on 3-2-2011. The temp. was around 60 degrees with a slight wind blowing across from left field. We hit at Lefty Gomez Field in Rodeo, CA. The field is 290 feet to left and 302 feet to center. We used a mix of miken and dudley softballs. We tested a 28oz. right out of the wrapper. I hit first and the Centenarian bat was hitting lasers right out of the wrapper. I felt it really starting to loosen up after about 30 hits, this bat hits big bombs and even the mis-hit balls were still going in the 330 foot range. Joe Rinaldi hit the bat next and I forgot to bring my pitching screen and Joe has a lot of power to center and right center, my bad Joe! So he went into line drive mode and pulled the ball and hit some good shots. Steve Imlay hit 3rd and he put on a great display of power with the Centenarian bat. He hit 24 homers in his first round and was just getting warmed up because in his second round he really put on a show hitting 35 homers and a lot of hard hit liners as well. Steve, you are a beast! Don't have the time or resources to break in your bat before your first game, then let the professionals do it for you. We will break in your bat by hitting 100 softballs that are pitched from a pitching machine. The balls will be pitched at regular slo pitch speed with an arc of 6 TO 8 ft. We will rotate the bat so the entire barrel breaks in evenly. The Factory shrink wrap paper will be left on the bat during the break in process. This will not void your warranty like rolling your bat in a machine would. For Slow Pitch and Fastpitch Softball Bats the Softball used will be a 12 inch Dudley Thunder 44 core 400 compression.
