Miken Slowpitch Softball Bats have been among the best bats in the industry for over 20 years now. It all started with the Miken Slowpitch softball bats "Ultra and Ultra 2" and then the Miken Freak" line which Launched in 2003 and has been going strong ever since. Here in 2021 the current Miken Slowpitch bats line include the "Miken Freak primo" and "Miken Freak 23". Miken sports was the first bat company to make 100% composite bats . The first one was the " Velocit-e". The Miken Softball Bat Velocit-e had a hard barrel and a small sweet spot but it had big pop when you hit it in the sweet spot. Miken knew they had something close with it and figured out how to soften up the barrel some and thats when they came out with the hottest bat ever made, The Miken Ultra Slowpitch Softball Bat. The Miken ultra only stood legal for around 1/2 of the 2002 season before it was banned for being to hot. Miken countered with a very balanced version of the Ultra called called it the Miken Softball bats "Ultra 2" in late in 2002. The asa and usssa organzations that approved the "Ultra2" began to ban it in 2003. New bat standards were the final result that asa and usssa resorted to to keep the Miken Softball bats and the other bat companies in check with. While the bats were cut back on performance at first miken figured a way around the new test by making the Miken Softball Bats bats "Freak". The Freak line has lasted for almost 20 years as of 2021. Miken Sports is located in Caledonia Minnesota in a small town surrounded by farm land.
