Here are some of the Senior Softball rules: • OFFICIAL BATS. All Senior Softball bats used in SSUSA and SSWC sponsored events, including qualifiers, must be approved by SSUSA and SSWC. The Bat shall not be more than 34" long, nor exceed 38 ounces in weight. They shall not have exposed rivets, pins, rough or sharp edges or any form of exterior fastener that would present a hazard. All Senior Softball bats shall be free of cracks. • AGE QUALIFICATIONS A player must become at least 50 years of age during the calendar year to be eligible to register with SSUSA and play in senior divisions that calendar year. A player must turn 40 years of age during their first year of play to be able to register and play in the 40-Masters division. The age a player attains on his birthday in any calendar year will be considered to be his or her age for that entire season. The official Senior Softball SSUSA tournament season is from the conclusion of the World Masters Championships in the current year until the conclusion of the World Masters Championships in the succeeding year.
